Every year a lot of people all over the world spend their holidays travelling. For many of them travelling is the most important event in the year. Travelling is a way to relax and to change the scenery. On a journey we learn a lot of new and interesting things. We can get acquainted with the world, meet new people, enjoy landscapes.  The best way to study geography is to travel and the best way to get to know and understand the traditions and customs of different people is to speak to them. Besides, travelling abroad is a good way to practise foreign languages.

There are a lot of ways of travelling. People can travel by car, by plane, by ship, by train, by coach or on foot. My favourite way of travelling is travelling by car. You can enjoy the view looking through the window and this way of travelling is rather fast.

There are many ways of spending holidays. Some people like sightseeing holidays or adventure holidays. As for me, my favourite type of holiday is a beach holiday because I like sea and swimming. Last summer we went to the seaside. We had an amazing time. We stayed in a cosy hotel. The resort was good and the weather was nice. We swam, sunbathed and played beach volleyball.  In summer my family and I also like travelling on foot. This way of travelling is called hiking. We take a tent, backpacks, food and start walking. In the evening we pitch out tent, build a campfire and enjoy ourselves.

To sum up, I can say that travelling is the best way to discover new things, new places and different ways of life. While on travel, you meet new people, try different meals; see world famous places with your own eyes.
