Rules:
Basic Structure:
- Subject + "to be" (am/is/are) + not + rest of the sentence
Examples:
- I am not tired.
- She is not (isn't) happy.
- They are not (aren't) going to the party.
Contractions:
- It's common to use contractions in negative sentences with "to be":
- am not = 'm not
- is not = isn't
- are not = aren't
Important Notes:
- The negative form of "to be" always comes before the rest of the sentence.
- Use "am not" with the pronoun "I."
- Use "is not" (or "isn't") with singular subjects (he, she, it).
